Salman reported,

He came to a fortress or a city and said to his companions, "Let me call them as I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ call them."He said, "I was only a man like you, then Allah guided me to Islam. If you accept Islam, you will have what we have and bear what we bear. If you refuse, then pay the jizyah while you are subdued. If you refuse that as well, we declare war on you on equal terms, for Allah does not love the treacherous."He continued doing this with them for three days. On the fourth day, the people advanced upon it and conquered it.

أنه انتهى إلى حصن أو مدينة فقال لأصحابه دعوني أدعوهم كما رأيت رسول الله ﷺ يدعوهم فقال إنما كنت رجلا منكم فهداني الله للإسلام فإن أسلمتم فلكم ما لنا وعليكم ما علينا وإن أنتم أبيتم فأدوا الجزية وأنتم صاغرون فإن أبيتم نابذناكم على سواء إن الله لا يحب الخائنين يفعل ذلك بهم ثلاثة أيام فلما كان اليوم الرابع غدا الناس إليها ففتحوها
