Abu Ayub reported,

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever bathes on Friday, applies perfume if he has any, puts on his finest clothes, then goes out to the mosque, prays voluntary units of prayer if he wishes, harms no one, and remains silent when his imam comes out until the prayer is performed, this will be an expiation for what occurs between this Friday and the next."In another place he said that Abdullah bin Kaab bin Malik al-Sulami narrated to him that Abu Ayub, the companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, told him that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever bathes on Friday," and Wazad added in his version, "then sets out with tranquility until he reaches the mosque."

حدثنا يعقوب حدثنا أبي عن محمد بن إسحاق حدثني محمد بن إبراهيم التيمي عن عمران بن أبي يحيى عن عبد الله بن كعب بن مالك

عن أبي أيوب الأنصاري قال

سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول من اغتسل يوم الجمعة ومس من طيب إن كان عنده ولبس من أحسن ثيابه ثم خرج حتى يأتي المسجد فيركع إن بدا له ولم يؤذ أحدا ثم أنصت إذا خرج إمامه حتى يصلي كانت كفارة لما بينها وبين الجمعة الأخرى و قال في موضع آخر إن عبد الله بن كعب بن مالك السلمي حدثه أن أبا أيوب صاحب رسول الله ﷺ حدثه أنه سمع رسول الله ﷺ يقول من اغتسل يوم الجمعة وزاد فيه ثم خرج وعليه السكينة حتى يأتي المسجد
