Abu Ayub reported,

We were with the Prophet ﷺ one day when food was brought near. I never saw food more abundant in blessing at the start of our eating, nor less in blessing at the end of it.We asked, "How is this, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "We mentioned the name of Allah when we began eating. Then someone sat down to eat afterward without mentioning Allah's name, so Satan ate along with him."

حدثنا قتيبة بن سعيد حدثنا ابن لهيعة عن يزيد بن أبي حبيب عن راشد اليافعي عن حبيب بن أوس

عن أبي أيوب الأنصاري أنه قال

كنا عند النبي ﷺ يوما فقرب طعاما فلم أر طعاما كان أعظم بركة منه أول ما أكلنا ولا أقل بركة في آخره قلنا كيف هذا يا رسول الله قال لأنا ذكرنا اسم الله عز وجل حين أكلنا ثم قعد بعد من أكل ولم يسم فأكل معه الشيطان
