The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to lodge with him. The Prophet ﷺ settled on the lower floor while Abu Ayub stayed on the upper floor.One night, Abu Ayub awoke and said, "We are walking above the head of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." So they moved aside and spent the night in a corner.In the morning, he mentioned this to the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ said, "The lower floor is more convenient for me."Abu Ayub replied, "I will not be on a roof while you are beneath it."So Abu Ayub moved to the lower floor and the Prophet ﷺ moved to the upper. Abu Ayub used to prepare food for the Prophet ﷺ and send it up to him. When it was returned, he would look for where the Prophet's ﷺ fingers had touched and would eat from the spot where his fingers had been.One day he prepared a dish containing garlic and sent it to him. When he checked for the marks of the Prophet's ﷺ fingers, he was told that he had not eaten any of it. أن رسول الله ﷺ نزل عليه فنزل النبي ﷺ أسفل وأبو أيوب في العلو فانتبه أبو أيوب ذات ليلة فقال نمشي فوق رأس رسول الله ﷺ فتحول فباتوا في جانب فلما أصبح ذكر ذلك للنبي ﷺ فقال النبي ﷺ السفل أرفق بي فقال أبو أيوب لا أعلو سقيفة أنت تحتها فتحول أبو أيوب في السفل والنبي ﷺ في العلو فكان يصنع طعام النبي ﷺ فيبعث إليه فإذا رد إليه سأل عن موضع أصابع النبي ﷺ فيتبع أثر أصابع النبي ﷺ فيأكل من حيث أثر أصابعه فصنع ذات يوم طعاما فيه ثوم فأرسل به إليه فسأل عن موضع أثر أصابع النبي ﷺ فقيل لم يأكل فصعد إليه فقال أحرام هو فقال النبي ﷺ أكرهه قال فإني أكره ما تكره أو ما كرهته وكان النبي ﷺ يؤتى
