I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Lands will be opened up for you, and military expeditions will be levied against you. A man among you will dislike going on a particular expedition, so he will slip away from his own people and offer himself to other tribes, saying, 'Who can I serve as a substitute for in such-and-such expedition?' Beware, that man is a hired hand right down to the last drop of his blood."
حدثنا يزيد بن عبد ربه حدثنا محمد بن حرب حدثني أبو سلمة عن يحيى بن جابر قال سمعت ابن أخي أبي أيوب الأنصاري يذكر
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول إنها ستفتح عليكم الأمصار وسيضربون عليكم بعوثا ينكر الرجل منكم البعث فيتخلص من قومه ويعرض نفسه على القبائل يقول من أكفيه بعث كذا وكذا ألا وذلك الأجير إلى آخر قطرة من دمه
