They sent me from Ma to Kufa to buy riding animals. We came to al-Kunasa, and there was a man with a crowd around him. My companion went off to the animals, while I went over to him, and it turned out to be Hudhayfah. I heard him say:The companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to ask him about the good, but I would ask him about the evil. I said, "Messenger of Allah, will there be evil after this good, just as there was evil before it?"He said, "Yes."I asked, "What is the protection from it?"He said, "The sword." Abu Tayah, I think, said, "The sword, I think."I said, "Then what?"He said, "Then there will be a truce upon impurity."I said, "Then what?"He said, "Then there will be callers to misguidance. If on that day you see a successor of Allah on the earth, cling to him even if he beats your body and takes your wealth. If you do not see him, then flee through the earth, even if you die while biting onto the trunk of a tree."I said, "Then what?"He said, "Then the Dajjal will emerge."I said, "What will he bring with him?"He said, "A river," or he said, "water and fire. Whoever enters his river, his reward will be removed and his sin made binding. Whoever enters his fire, his reward will be made binding and his sin removed."I said, "Then what?"He said, "If a mare were to give birth, you would not ride her foal before the Hour comes."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن أبي التياح قال سمعت صخرا يحدث
أرسلوني من ماء إلى الكوفة أشتري الدواب فأتينا الكناسة فإذا رجل عليه جمع قال فأما صاحبي فانطلق إلى الدواب وأما أنا فأتيته فإذا هو حذيفة فسمعته يقول كان أصحاب رسول الله ﷺ يسألونه عن الخير وأسأله عن الشر فقلت يا رسول الله هل بعد هذا الخير شر كما كان قبله شر قال نعم قلت فما العصمة منه قال السيف أحسب أبو التياح يقول السيف أحسب قال قلت ثم ماذا قال ثم تكون هدنة على دخن قال قلت ثم ماذا قال ثم تكون دعاة الضلالة قال فإن رأيت يومئذ خليفة الله في الأرض فالزمه وإن نهك جسمك وأخذ مالك فإن لم تره فاهرب في الأرض ولو أن تموت وأنت عاض بجذل شجرة قال قلت ثم ماذا قال ثم يخرج الدجال قال قلت فيم يجيء به معه قال بنهر أو قال ماء ونار فمن دخل نهره حط أجره ووجب وزره ومن دخل ناره وجب أجره وحط وزره قال قلت ثم ماذا قال لو أنتجت فرسا لم تركب فلوها حتى تقوم الساعة
