Someone whom I do not consider a liar narrated to me, and Abdurrahman said, whenever he said, "Someone whom I do not consider a liar narrated to me," we understood that he meant Hudhayfah, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ met Jibreel at the Stones of Mira, and Jibreel said, "Among your nation are the weak, so whoever recites in one mode should not switch from it to another out of dislike for it."

حدثني من لم يكذبني قال وكان إذا قال حدثني من لم يكذبني رأينا أنه يعني حذيفة قال لقي رسول الله ﷺ جبريل بأحجار المراء فقال إن من أمتك الضعيف فمن قرأ على حرف فلا يتحول منه إلى غيره رغبة عنه
