Jundab said, on the day of al-Jaraa, there was a man present, and he said, "By Allah, blood will surely be spilled today."The man replied, "No, by Allah."Jundab said, "Why did you not say, 'Yes indeed, by Allah'?"The man said, "No, by Allah. It is a hadith of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ which he himself narrated to me."Jundab said, "I told him, 'By Allah, I have considered you a poor companion all day. You hear me swearing, and although you heard this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ himself, you do not stop me.'"Jundab said, "Then I told myself, what have I to do with anger?" So I let go of my anger and began to question him, and it turned out that the man was Hudhayfah.

قال جندب لما كان يوم الجرعة وثم رجل قال فقال والله ليهراقن اليوم دماء قال قال الرجل كلا والله قال هلا قلت بلى والله قال كلا والله إنه لحديث رسول الله ﷺ حدثنيه قال قلت والله إني لأراك جليس سوء منذ اليوم تسمعني أحلف وقد سمعته من رسول الله ﷺ لا ينهاني قال ثم قلت مالي وللغضب قال فتركت الغضب وأقبلت أسأله قال وإذا الرجل حذيفة
