Abdul-Rahman bin Yazid reported,

We said to Hudhayfah, "Tell us of a man whose manner, guidance, and conduct are closest to that of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so that we may learn from him."He replied, "I know of no one whose manner, guidance, and bearing more closely resembles that of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, from the moment he leaves him until the wall of his house conceals him, than Ibn Umm Abd."We did not hear this from Abdul-Rahman bin Yazid. Those well-versed among the companions of Muhammad ﷺ knew that Ibn Umm Abd was among the closest of them to Allah in standing.

عن عبد الرحمن بن يزيد قال

قلنا لحذيفة أخبرنا برجل قريب السمت والهدي برسول الله ﷺ حتى نأخذ عنه قال ما أعلم أحدا أقرب سمتا وهديا ودلا برسول الله ﷺ حتى يواريه جدار بيته من ابن أم عبد ولم نسمع هذا من عبد الرحمن بن يزيد لقد علم المحفوظون من أصحاب محمد ﷺ أن ابن أم عبد من أقربهم إلى الله عز وجل وسيلة
