The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never established a practice that I did not come to know, except for three. I do not know whether he used to recite aloud in Dhuhr and Asr or not, and I do not know how he recited "and I have reached extreme old age" [Maryam 19:8], whether it was "utiyya" or "asiyya."Husayn said, "And I have forgotten the third one."Abdullah said, "I heard all of them myself from Uthman bin Muhammad, and he said 'utiyya.'"
حدثنا عثمان حدثنا جرير عن حصين بن عبد الرحمن عن عكرمة
ما سن رسول الله ﷺ شيئا إلا وقد علمته غير ثلاث لا أدري كان يقرأ في الظهر والعصر أم لا ولا أدري كيف كان يقرأ {وقد بلغت من الكبر عتيا} أو عسيا قال حصين ونسيت الثالثة قال عبد الله سمعتها كلها أنا من عثمان بن محمد {عتيا}
