A man begged during the time of the Prophet ﷺ, and the people held back from giving him anything. Then one man gave him something, and the rest of the people followed and gave as well.The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever sets a good example that is then followed will have his own reward and a share of the rewards of those who follow him, without their rewards being diminished in the least. And whoever sets a bad example that is then followed will bear his own sin and a share of the sins of those who follow him, without their sins being diminished in the least."
حدثنا وهب بن جرير حدثنا هشام بن حسان عن محمد عن أبي عبيدة بن حذيفة
سأل رجل على عهد النبي ﷺ فأمسك القوم ثم إن رجلا أعطاه فأعطى القوم فقال النبي ﷺ من سن خيرا فاستن به كان له أجره ومن أجور من يتبعه غير منتقص من أجورهم شيئا ومن سن شرا فاستن به كان عليه وزره ومن أوزار من يتبعه غير منتقص من أوزارهم شيئا
