A man from the Ansar came to the Prophet ﷺ on the day of the conquest, while the Prophet was sitting in a gathering near the Station. He greeted the Prophet ﷺ and then said, "Prophet of Allah, I made a vow that if Allah granted the Prophet and the believers victory over Makkah, I would pray in Bayt al-Maqdis. And I have found a man from Syria here among the Quraysh who will travel with me there and back."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Pray here instead."The man repeated what he had said three times, and each time the Prophet ﷺ told him, "Pray here instead."Then he said it a fourth time, and the Prophet ﷺ said, "Then go and pray there. By the One who sent Muhammad with the truth, had you prayed here, it would have counted for you as every prayer in Bayt al-Maqdis."

أن رجلا من الأنصار جاء إلى النبي ﷺ يوم الفتح والنبي في مجلس قريب من المقام فسلم على النبي ﷺ ثم قال يا نبي الله إني نذرت لئن فتح الله للنبي والمؤمنين مكة لأصلين في بيت المقدس وإني وجدت رجلا من أهل الشام هاهنا في قريش مقبلا معي ومدبرا فقال النبي ﷺ هاهنا فصل فقال الرجل قوله هذا ثلاث مرات كل ذلك يقول النبي ﷺ هاهنا فصل ثم قال الرابعة مقالته هذه فقال النبي ﷺ اذهب فصل فيه فوالذي بعث محمدا بالحق لو صليت هاهنا لقضى عنك ذلك كل صلاة في بيت المقدس
