Ahnaf reported,

While I was performing the circumambulation of the Kaaba, a man from the tribe of Banu Sulaym came up to me and said, "Shall I give you good news?"I replied, "Yes, please."He said, "Do you remember when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me to your people, Banu Saad, to invite them to Islam? You said at that time, 'By Allah, he has spoken nothing but good, and I hear nothing but what is fine.' So I returned and informed the Prophet ﷺ of what you had said, and he prayed, 'O Allah, forgive Ahnaf.'"Ahnaf said, "There is nothing I place more hope in than that prayer."

عن الأحنف قال

بينما أطوف بالبيت إذ لقيني رجل من بني سليم فقال ألا أبشرك قال قلت بلى قال أتذكر إذ بعثني رسول الله ﷺ إلى قومك بني سعد أدعوهم إلى الإسلام قال فقلت أنت والله ما قال إلا خيرا ولا أسمع إلا حسنا فإني رجعت فأخبرت النبي ﷺ بمقالتك قال اللهم اغفر للأحنف قال فما أنا لشيء أرجى منها
