I met an elderly man from the tribe of Banu Sulaym at al-Kunasah, and he told me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ counted five things on his hand, or on my hand, and said, "Saying 'Subhan Allah' is half of the scale, 'Alhamdulillah' fills it, 'Allahu Akbar' fills what is between the heavens and the earth, fasting is half of patience, and purification is half of faith."

لقيت شيخا من بني سليم بالكناسة فحدثني أن رسول الله ﷺ عد خمسا في يده أو في يدي فقال التسبيح نصف الميزان والحمد لله يملؤه والتكبير يملأ ما بين السماء والأرض والصوم نصف الصبر والطهور نصف الإيمان
