The Prophet ﷺ said, "I looked at the moon on the morning following Laylat al-Qadr and saw it as though it were half of a wooden bowl."Abu Ishaq commented, "The moon only appears like that on the night of the twenty-third."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن أبي إسحاق أنه سمع أبا حذيفة يحدث
عن النبي ﷺ قال نظرت إلى القمر صبيحة ليلة القدر فرأيته كأنه فلق جفنة و قال أبو إسحاق إنما يكون القمر كذاك صبيحة ليلة القدر فرأيته كأنه فلق جفنة و قال أبو إسحاق إنما يكون ليلة ثلاث وعشرين
Its isnad is sahih. Abu Ishaq is Subayi, and Abu Huzaifa is Salama bin Suhayb Arhabi, who is trustworthy, his hadith appearing in Muslim and the Four (Sunan). The hadith is found in Muslim, 2/829, no. 1170, but narrated from Abu Hurairah.
