Some of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ captured me, and I was with them when they came upon a flock of sheep, seized them by force, and cooked them. I then heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Plundered goods are not lawful." So they overturned the cooking pots.
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن سماك بن حرب قال سمعت
أسرني ناس من أصحاب النبي ﷺ فكنت معهم فأصابوا غنما فانتهبوها فطبخوها قال فسمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول إن النهبى أو النهبة لا تصلح فأكفئوا القدور

Its isnad is daif due to the unknown identity of Simak's teacher. Haythami said in 5/337, "The men of Ahmad are the men of the Sahih." The hadith was also narrated by Ibn Majah 2/1299 no. 3938, Abdul-Razzaq 20580 no. 18841, and Tabarani in al-Kabir 2/84 no. 1378.
