He came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "My father sends you greetings of peace."The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Peace be upon you and upon your father."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة قال سمعت غالبا القطان يحدث
أنه أتى النبي ﷺ فقال إن أبي يقرأ عليك السلام فقال النبي ﷺ عليك وعلى أبيك السلام
Its isnad is daif, due to the unknown identity of the narrator who transmitted from the companion and of the one he transmitted from. The hadith was narrated this way by Ibn Abu Shayba, 9/122, no. 6764, and similarly by Abu Dawud, 4/358, no. 5231, and Bayhaqi, 6/361.
