Burayda reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ set out on the expedition of the Conquest, and he went walking toward the graves. When he reached the nearest of them, he sat down beside it as though he were speaking to a person sitting there, and he wept.Umar bin Khattab came up to him and asked, "What makes you weep, may Allah make me your ransom?"He replied, "I asked my Lord to permit me to visit the grave of Umm Muhammad, and He permitted me. Then I asked Him to allow me to seek forgiveness for her, but He refused. I had previously forbidden you three things. I forbade you the meat of sacrificial animals, that you should not keep it beyond three days, but now eat of it as you wish. I forbade you visiting the graves, but whoever wishes may now visit them, for I have been granted permission to visit the grave of Umm Muhammad. Whoever wishes may supplicate. And I forbade you certain vessels in which you used to drink, the gourd, the green jar, and the pitch-coated jar, and I commanded you to use other vessels. The vessel itself does not make anything lawful or unlawful, so avoid every intoxicant."

عن سليمان بن بريدة عن أبيه

أن رسول الله ﷺ غزا غزوة الفتح فخرج يمشي إلى القبور حتى إذا أتى إلى أدناها جلس إليه كأنه يكلم إنسانا جالسا يبكي قال فاستقبله عمر بن الخطاب فقال ما يبكيك جعلني الله فداءك قال سألت ربي عز وجل أن يأذن لي في زيارة قبر أم محمد فأذن لي فسألته أن يأذن لي فأستغفر لها فأبى إني كنت نهيتكم عن ثلاثة أشياء عن لحوم الأضاحي أن تمسكوا بعد ثلاثة أيام فكلوا ما بدا لكم وعن زيارة القبور فمن شاء فليزر فقد أذن لي في زيارة قبر أم محمد ومن شاء فليدع وعن الظروف تشربون فيها الدباء والحنتم والمزفت وأمرتكم بظروف وإن الوعاء لا يحل شيئا ولا يحرمه فاجتنبوا كل مسكر
