أن النبي ﷺ كان يبيت الليالي المتتابعة طاويا وأهله لا يجدون عشاء قال وكان عامة خبزهم خبز الشعير
Its isnad is sahih. Thabit bin Yazid is Abu Zayd Basri Ahwal, and he is trustworthy. Ibn Main, Abu Hatim, and others confirmed his reliability, and Bukhari gave his biography in al-Kabir, 1/2/172.Hilal is Ibn Khabab Abdi, and he is trustworthy and reliable, as Ibn Main said. Yahya bin Saeed Qattan and others claimed that he changed before his death and became confused, but Ibn Main denied this and said, "No, he did not become confused, nor did he change." Bukhari gave his biography in al-Kabir, 4/2/210-211.The hadith was narrated by Tirmidhi, 3:272, from Abdullah bin Muawiya Jumahi, from Thabit bin Yazid, and he said, "This is a hasan sahih hadith." His commentator also attributed it to Ibn Majah. See al-Mawahib al-Ludunniyyah, 1:308.
