A black slave-girl came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ after he had returned from one of his military expeditions and said, "I made a vow that if Allah brought you back safely, I would beat the tambourine in your presence."He replied, "If you made the vow, then do it. If you did not, then do not."So she began to beat the tambourine. Abu Bakr entered while she was beating it, then someone else entered while she was still beating it. Then Umar entered, and she tucked her tambourine behind her and covered herself. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Even Satan is afraid of you, Umar. I was sitting here and these others came in, but when you entered, she did what she did."
