Burayda reported,

A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked him about the times of prayer.He said, "Pray with us these two days."When dawn broke, he ordered Bilal to call the adhan, then ordered him to call the iqama. Then he ordered him to call the adhan when the sun passed the zenith for the noon prayer, then ordered him to call the iqama. Then he ordered him to call the iqama for the afternoon prayer while the sun was still high. Then he ordered him to call the iqama for the sunset prayer when the upper edge of the sun had disappeared. Then he ordered him to call the iqama for the night prayer when the twilight had vanished, and he prayed.The next day, he ordered him to call the iqama for the dawn prayer, delaying it until it was light. Then he ordered him to delay the noon prayer until it had cooled, taking great care to wait for the cool. Then he prayed the afternoon prayer while the sun was still white, delaying it beyond what he had done the previous day. Then he ordered him to call the iqama for the sunset prayer before the twilight had disappeared. Then he ordered him to call the iqama for the night prayer when a third of the night had passed.Then he asked, "Where is the one who asked about the times of prayer?"The man said, "Here I am, Messenger of Allah."He said, "The time of your prayers is between what you have seen."

حدثنا إسحاق بن يوسف قال حدثنا سفيان عن علقمة بن مرثد

عن سليمان بن بريدة عن أبيه قال

أتى النبي ﷺ رجل فسأله عن وقت الصلاة فقال صل معنا هذين فأمر بلالا حين طلع الفجر فأذن ثم أمره فأقام ثم أمره فأذن حين زالت الشمس الظهر ثم أمره فأقام ثم أمره فأقام العصر والشمس مرتفعة ثم أمره فأقام المغرب حين غاب حاجب الشمس ثم أمره حين غاب الشفق فأقام العشاء فصلى ثم أمره من الغد فأقام الفجر فأسفر بها ثم أمره فأبرد بالظهر فأنعم أن يبرد بها ثم صلى العصر والشمس بيضاء أخرها فوق ذلك الذي كان أمره فأقام المغرب قبل أن يغيب الشفق ثم أمره فأقام العشاء حين ذهب ثلث الليل ثم قال أين السائل عن وقت الصلاة قال الرجل أنا يا رسول الله فقال وقت صلاتكم بين ما رأيتم
