We arrived with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as pilgrims performing Hajj, and he commanded them to convert it into an Umrah.Then he said, "Had I known earlier what I know now, I would have done as they have done. But the Umrah has entered into the Hajj until the Day of Resurrection." Then he interlaced his fingers together.So the people came out of their state of ihram, except those who had brought sacrificial animals.Ali arrived from Yemen, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked him, "What did you enter ihram for?"He replied, "I entered ihram for the same as that which you entered ihram for."The Prophet asked, "Do you have a sacrificial animal with you?"Ali answered, "No."The Prophet said, "Then remain as you are, and you shall have a third of my sacrificial animals."The narrator said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had with him one hundred camels for sacrifice.
حدثنا عفان حدثنا خالد حدثنا يزيد بن أبي زياد عن مجاهد
قدمنا مع رسول الله ﷺ حجاجا فأمرهم فجعلوها عمرة ثم قال لو استقبلت من أمري ما استدبرت لفعلت كما فعلوا ولكن دخلت العمرة في الحج إلى يوم القيامة ثم أنشب أصابعه بعضها في بعض فحل الناس إلا من كان معه هدي وقدم علي من اليمن فقال له رسول الله ﷺ بم أهللت قال أهللت بما أهللت به قال فهل معك هدي قال لا قال فأقم كما أنت ولك ثلث هديي قال وكان مع رسول الله ﷺ مائة بدنة
