Sahl reported,

A man from the Ansar came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked, "Messenger of Allah, what do you say about a man who finds another man with his wife? Should he kill him?"Then Allah revealed concerning his case what is mentioned in the Quran about mutual cursing. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "A judgment has been given concerning you and your wife."So they performed the mutual cursing while I was present, and then he separated from her in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

أنه قال إن رجلا من الأنصار جاء رسول الله ﷺ فقال يا رسول الله أرأيت رجلا وجد مع امرأته رجلا أيقتله قال فأنزل الله عز وجل في شأنه ما ذكر في القرآن من التلاعن فقال قد قضي فيك وفي امرأتك قال فتلاعنا وأنا شاهد ثم فارقها عند رسول الله ﷺ
