The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Asim bin Adi, "Take her into your care until she gives birth at your home. If she delivers a red-skinned child, then he belongs to the father, Uwaymir, who has disowned him. But if she delivers a child with curly hair and a black tongue, then he belongs to Ibn Sahma."Asim said, "When the child was born, I took him in, and his head was like the fleece of a young lamb. Then I took hold of his cheeks," Yaqub said, "and behold, he was reddish like a small lote-fruit, and his tongue stuck out at me, black like a date." He said, "So I said, 'Allah and His Messenger ﷺ have spoken the truth.'"
حدثنا محمد بن عبيد حدثنا محمد بن إسحاق ويعقوب حدثنا أبي عن ابن إسحاق حدثني
قال رسول الله ﷺ لعاصم بن عدي اقبضها إليك حتى تلد عندك فإن تلده أحمر فهو لأبيه الذي انتفى منه لعويمر وإن ولدته قطط الشعر أسود اللسان فهو لابن السحماء قال عاصم فلما وقع أخذته إلي فإذا رأسه مثل فروة الحمل الصغير ثم أخذت قال يعقوب بفقميه فإذا هو أحيمر مثل النبقة واستقبلني لسانه أسود مثل التمرة قال فقلت صدق الله ورسوله ﷺ
