Uwaymir came to Asim bin Adi and said, "Ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about a man who finds another man with his wife and kills him. Should he be killed in retaliation, or what should he do?"So Asim asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ disapproved of such questions.Then Uwaymir met him and asked, "What did you do?"Asim replied, "What did I do? You brought me nothing good. I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he disapproved of such questions."Uwaymir said, "By Allah, I will go to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ myself and ask him."So he went to him and found that revelation had already been sent down concerning the two of them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ called for them both and had them perform the mutual oath of condemnation.Then Uwaymir said, "Messenger of Allah, if I take her back, I would have lied against her." So he separated from her before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded him to do so, and this became the established practice for the Mutalaineen.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Watch her closely. If she gives birth to a child who is dark-skinned, with deep black eyes and large buttocks, then I do not think but that he has told the truth. But if she gives birth to a child who is reddish like a wahrah lizard, then I do not think but that he has lied."She gave birth to a child matching the unfavorable description.

جاء عويمر إلى عاصم بن عدي قال فقال سل رسول الله ﷺ أرأيت رجلا وجد رجلا مع امرأته فقتله أيقتل به أم كيف يصنع قال فسأل عاصم رسول الله ﷺ فعاب رسول الله ﷺ المسائل قال فلقيه عويمر فقال ما صنعت قال ما صنعت إنك لم تأتني بخير سألت رسول الله ﷺ فعاب المسائل فقال عويمر والله لآتين رسول الله ﷺ فلأسألنه فأتاه فوجده قد أنزل عليه فيهما قال فدعا بهما فلاعن بينهما قال فقال عويمر لئن انطلقت بها يا رسول الله لقد كذبت عليها قال ففارقها قبل أن يأمره رسول الله ﷺ قال فصارت سنة في المتلاعنين قال فقال رسول الله ﷺ أبصروها فإن جاءت به أسحم أدعج العينين عظيم الأليتين فلا أراه إلا قد صدق وإن جاءت به أحمر كأنه وحرة فلا أراه إلا كاذبا قال فجاءت به على النعت المكروه
