I saw Fatimah, daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, on the day of Uhud. She burned a piece of a mat, then began applying its ashes to the wound on the face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. A shield filled with water was brought, and she washed the blood away from him.
