The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "He is not of my community who does not honor our elders, show mercy to our young, and recognize the right of our scholars."Abdullah said, "I also heard it from Harun."
حدثنا هارون حدثنا ابن وهب حدثني مالك بن الخير الزيادي عن أبي قبيل المعافري
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال ليس من أمتي من لم يجل كبيرنا ويرحم صغيرنا ويعرف لعالمنا حقه قال عبد الله وسمعته أنا من هارون
Its isnad is hasan, because of Malik bin Khair Ziyadi, whom Ibn Hibban graded trustworthy. Ibn Qattan said, "His integrity has not been established," but he did not mention any criticism of him, and Hakim graded him trustworthy, a judgment Dhahabi confirmed. As for Abu Qabil Maafiri, he is Hayy bin Hani, a well-known trustworthy narrator.The hadith was reported by Abu Dawud 4/286 no. 4943, and Tirmidhi 4/322 no. 1919, who said, "Hasan gharib," and Tabarani in Al-Kabir 8/168 no. 8154 and the narrations following it, and Humaydi 2/268 no. 286. Hakim graded it sahih 1/122, and Dhahabi agreed with him. Haythami said, 8/14, "Its isnad is hasan."
