The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in the dawn prayer, and the recitation became difficult for him. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished his prayer, he turned his face toward us and said, "I see that you recite behind your imam when he recites aloud."We said, "Yes, by Allah, Messenger of Allah, we do."He said, "Do not do so, except for the Mother of the Quran, for there is no prayer for the one who does not recite it."
حدثنا يعقوب حدثني أبي عن ابن إسحاق حدثني مكحول عن محمود بن ربيع الأنصاري
صلى بنا رسول الله ﷺ الصبح فثقلت عليه القراءة فلما انصرف رسول الله ﷺ من صلاته أقبل علينا بوجهه فقال إني لأراكم تقرءون خلف إمامكم إذا جهر قال قلنا أجل والله يا رسول الله هذا قال فلا تفعلوا إلا بأم القرآن فإنه لا صلاة لمن لم يقرأ بها
