The Messenger of Allah ﷺ designated Dhu al-Hulayfa as the place where the people of Medina enter the state of ihram, al-Juhfa for the people of Sham, Qarn al-Manazil for the people of Najd, and Yalamlam for the people of Yemen. These are the appointed places for the people of those regions and for anyone passing through them from elsewhere who intends to perform Hajj or Umrah.Whoever lives within these boundaries should enter ihram from wherever his journey begins, and the people of Mecca enter ihram from Mecca itself.
حدثنا عفان حدثنا وهيب حدثنا عبد الله بن طاوس عن أبيه
أن رسول الله ﷺ وقت لأهل المدينة ذا الحليفة ولأهل الشام الجحفة ولأهل نجد قرن المنازل ولأهل اليمن يلملم هن لهم ولكل آت أتى عليهن من غيرهن ممن أراد الحج والعمرة فمن كان من دون ذلك فمن حيث أنشأ حتى أهل مكة من مكة
