He asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about Laylat al-Qadr, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is in Ramadan, so seek it in the last ten nights, for it falls on an odd night, on the twenty-first, the twenty-third, the twenty-fifth, the twenty-seventh, the twenty-ninth, or the final night. Whoever spends it in prayer, seeking it out of faith and hoping for its reward, and is granted it, his past and future sins will be forgiven."
حدثنا أبو سعيد مولى بني هاشم قال حدثنا سعيد بن سلمة يعني ابن أبي الحسام حدثنا عبد الله بن محمد بن عقيل عن عمرو بن عبد الرحمن
أنه سأل رسول الله ﷺ عن ليلة القدر فقال رسول الله ﷺ في رمضان فالتمسوها في العشر الأواخر فإنها في وتر في إحدى وعشرين أو ثلاث وعشرين أو خمس وعشرين أو سبع وعشرين أو تسع وعشرين أو في آخر ليلة فمن قامها ابتغاءها إيمانا واحتسابا ثم وفقت له غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه وما تأخر
