He was one of the chiefs and said, "We pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with the pledge of war." Ubada was among the twelve who gave their pledge at the first Aqaba, the pledge of the women, on the basis of hearing and obeying in times of hardship and ease, in what we like and what we dislike, that we would not contest authority with those entitled to it, and that we would speak the truth wherever we were, fearing no one's blame for the sake of Allah.
حدثنا يعقوب حدثنا أبي عن ابن إسحاق حدثني عبادة بن الوليد بن عبادة بن الصامت عن أبيه الوليد
وكان أحد النقباء قال بايعنا رسول الله ﷺ بيعة الحرب وكان عبادة من الاثني عشر الذين بايعوا في العقبة الأولى على بيعة النساء في السمع والطاعة في عسرنا ويسرنا ومنشطنا ومكرهنا ولا ننازع في الأمر أهله وأن نقول بالحق حيثما كنا لا نخاف في الله لومة لائم
