Ubada bin Samit reported,

We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a gathering when he said, "Pledge allegiance to me that you will not associate anything with Allah, that you will not steal, that you will not commit fornication, and that you will not kill your children." He recited the verse that was taken from the women, "When the believing women come to you" [Mumtahanah 60:12]. "Whoever among you fulfills this, his reward is with Allah. Whoever commits any of these and is punished for it, that punishment is an expiation for him. And whoever commits any of these and Allah conceals it for him, his affair rests with Allah. If He wills, He will forgive him, and if He wills, He will punish him."Sufyan said, Hudhali said to me, "Memorize this hadith for me, it is with Zuhri." Hudhali Abu Bakr said to me, "He has never narrated anything like this," meaning Zuhri.

حدثنا سفيان عن الزهري عن أبي إدريس الخولاني

عن عبادة بن الصامت قال

كنا عند رسول الله ﷺ في مجلس فقال تبايعوني على أن لا تشركوا بالله شيئا ولا تسرقوا ولا تزنوا ولا تقتلوا أولادكم قرأ الآية التي أخذت على النساء {إذا جاءك المؤمنات} فمن وفى منكم فأجره على الله ومن أصاب من ذلك شيئا فعوقب به فهو كفارة له ومن أصاب من ذلك شيئا فستره الله تبارك وتعالى عليه فهو إلى الله إن شاء غفر له وإن شاء عذبه قال سفيان قال لي الهذلي احفظ لي هذا الحديث وهو عند الزهري قال لي الهذلي أبو بكر لم يرو مثل هذا قط يعني الزهري
