We were caught in a light rain and darkness, so we waited for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to lead us in prayer. He came out, took me by the hand, and said, "Say."I remained silent.He said again, "Say."I asked, "What shall I say?"He replied, "Say 'He is Allah, the One' and the two surahs of refuge when you reach the evening and when you reach the morning, three times. It will suffice you twice each day."

أصابنا طش وظلمة فانتظرنا رسول الله ﷺ ليصلي لنا فخرج فأخذ بيدي فقال قل فسكت قال قل قلت ما أقول قال قل هو الله أحد والمعوذتين حين تمسي وحين تصبح ثلاثا يكفيك كل يوم مرتين
