A woman from the tribe of Khathaam came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the Farewell Pilgrimage seeking a ruling, while Fadl bin Abbas was riding behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.She said, "Messenger of Allah, the obligation of Allah regarding the pilgrimage has reached my father as a very old man who cannot sit firmly upon a riding-mount. Will it fulfill the obligation on his behalf if I perform the pilgrimage for him?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Yes."Fadl bin Abbas began turning to look at her, for she was a beautiful woman, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took hold of Fadl and turned his face to the other side.
حدثنا سعد بن إبراهيم حدثنا أبي عن صالح عن ابن شهاب أن سليمان بن يسار أخبره أن
أن امرأة من خثعم استفتت رسول الله ﷺ في حجة الوداع والفضل بن عباس رديف رسول الله ﷺ فقالت يا رسول الله إن فريضة الله في الحج أدركت أبي شيخا كبيرا لا يستطيع أن يستوي على الراحلة فهل يقضي عنه أن أحج عنه فقال لها رسول الله ﷺ نعم فأخذ الفضل بن عباس يلتفت إليها وكانت امرأة حسناء فأخذ رسول الله ﷺ الفضل فحول وجهه من الشق الآخر
Its isnad is sahih. Saad is the son of Ibrahim bin Saad. In (h) he is called Saeed, which is an error, we have corrected it from (k). The hadith is given at greater length at 1890. See also 1828.
