The Prophet ﷺ was asked by a man, "What do you say about fasting on the day of Arafah?"He replied, "I trust in Allah that it expiates the sins of the past year and the year to come."The man then asked, "Messenger of Allah, what about fasting on the day of Ashura?"He replied, "I trust in Allah that it expiates the sins of the past year."

عن النبي ﷺ قال قال له رجل أرأيت صيام عرفة قال أحتسب عند الله أن يكفر السنة الماضية والباقية قال يا رسول الله أرأيت صوم عاشوراء قال أحتسب عند الله أن يكفر السنة
