The Prophet ﷺ used to recite Umm al-Kitab and two surahs in the first two rakats of the Dhuhr prayer, and at times he would let us hear a verse. In the last two rakats he would recite Umm al-Quran. The narrator said that he would lengthen the first rakat more than the second, and he did the same in the Asr prayer and the same in the dawn prayer.Affan said that Abban bin Yazid the perfumer narrated it exactly the same way.
