He was one of the companions and horsemen of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'A true dream is from Allah, and a disturbing dream is from Satan. When one of you has a dream that troubles him, let him spit lightly to his left three times and seek refuge with Allah from it, and it will not harm him.'"
حدثنا بشر بن شعيب حدثني أبي عن الزهري أخبرني أبو سلمة بن عبد الرحمن أن
كان من أصحاب رسول الله ﷺ وفرسانه قال سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول الرؤيا من الله والحلم من الشيطان إذا حلم أحدكم الحلم يكرهه فليبصق عن يساره ثلاثا وليستعذ بالله منه فلن يضره
Its isnad is sahih. Bishr bin Shuayb bin Abu Hamza is trustworthy, as is his father, and their hadith is found in the collections of the group (al-Jamaah). The hadith was mentioned previously at 22492.
