The Prophet ﷺ used to recite the Opening of the Quran along with two other surahs in the first two units of the Zuhr and Asr prayers, and at times he would let us hear a verse. He would prolong the first unit.
حدثنا أبو المغيرة حدثنا الأوزاعي حدثنا يحيى بن أبي كثير
أن النبي ﷺ كان يقرأ بأم القرآن وسورتين معها في الركعتين من صلاة الظهر والعصر ويسمعنا الآية أحيانا وكان يطيل في الركعة الأولى
