Abu Qatada reported,

A funeral bier was brought to the Prophet ﷺ for him to pray over the deceased. He asked, "Did he owe any debt?"They replied, "Yes, two dinars."He asked, "Did he leave behind anything to settle them?"They answered, "No."He said, "Then pray over your companion yourselves."Abu Qatada said, "I will take responsibility for them, Messenger of Allah."So the Prophet ﷺ prayed over him.

حدثنا يزيد بن هارون أخبرنا محمد بن عمرو عن سعيد بن أبي سعيد المقبري

عن عبد الله بن أبي قتادة عن أبيه قال

أتي النبي ﷺ بجنازة ليصلي عليها فقال أعليه دين قالوا نعم ديناران قال أترك لهما وفاء قالوا لا قال صلوا على صاحبكم قال أبو قتادة هما علي يا رسول الله فصلى عليه النبي ﷺ
