I used to have dreams that left me uncovered, though I would not be wrapped up. When I met Abu Qatada, I mentioned this to him, and he related to me from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who said, "A true vision is from Allah, and a confused dream is from Satan. Whoever sees a dream he dislikes should not tell anyone about it. Let him spit to his left three times and seek refuge in Allah from its evil, and it will not harm him."Sufyan said on another occasion, "He will not see anything he dislikes."

كنت أرى الرؤيا أعرى منها غير أني لا أزمل حتى لقيت أبا قتادة فذكرت ذلك له فحدثني عن رسول الله ﷺ قال الرؤيا من الله والحلم من الشيطان فمن رأى رؤيا يكرهها فلا يخبر بها وليتفل عن يساره ثلاثا وليستعذ بالله من شرها فإنها لا تضره قال سفيان مرة أخرى فإنه لن يرى شيئا يكرهه
