The Messenger of Allah ﷺ designated Dhul Hulayfah as the place of ihram for the people of Madinah, Juhfah for the people of Sham, Qarn for the people of Najd, and Yalamlam for the people of Yemen. He said, "These are for them and for anyone who passes through them from elsewhere who intends to perform Hajj or Umrah. As for those who live closer, they begin from where they are, until even the people of Makkah enter ihram from Makkah itself."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا معمر قال أخبرني ابن طاوس عن أبيه
وقت رسول الله ﷺ لأهل المدينة ذا الحليفة ولأهل الشام الجحفة ولأهل نجد قرنا ولأهل اليمن يلملم قال هن لهم ولمن أتى عليهم ممن سواهم ممن أراد الحج والعمرة من حيث بدأ حتى يبلغ ذلك أهل مكة
