Abu Masud Uqba bin Amr reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivered a sermon to us. He praised Allah and glorified Him, then said, "There are hypocrites among you. Whoever I name, let him stand."Then he said, "Stand up, so-and-so. Stand up, so-and-so. Stand up, so-and-so," until he had named thirty-six men.Then he said, "There are among you," or "from among you, so fear Allah."Later, Umar passed by one of the men who had been named. The man was covering his face, but Umar recognized him.Umar asked, "What is the matter with you?"The man told him what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had said.Umar said, "May you be cast away for the rest of your days."

حدثنا وكيع حدثنا سفيان عن سلمة عن عياض بن عياض عن أبيه

عن أبي مسعود قال

خطبنا رسول الله ﷺ خطبة فحمد الله وأثنى عليه ثم قال إن فيكم منافقين فمن سميت فليقم ثم قال قم يا فلان قم يا فلان قم يا فلان حتى سمى ستة وثلاثين رجلا ثم قال إن فيكم أو منكم فاتقوا الله قال فمر عمر على رجل ممن سمى مقنع قد كان يعرفه قال ما لك قال فحدثه بما قال رسول الله ﷺ فقال بعدا لك سائر اليوم
