The Prophet ﷺ said, "A man's spending on his family, when he seeks reward for it, is counted as charity."
حدثنا وكيع حدثنا شعبة عن عدي بن ثابت عن عبد الله بن يزيد
قال النبي ﷺ نفقة الرجل على أهله يحتسبها صدقة
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Abdullah bin Yazid is Ibn Zayd al-Ansari al-Khatmi, a minor companion. Adi bin Thabit is a well-known trustworthy narrator whose hadith is found among the group of major hadith compilers. The hadith has already appeared at 17019.
