The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came upon a storyteller who was relating his stories, and the man fell silent. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Carry on. For me to sit from dawn until the sun rises is dearer to me than freeing four slaves, and to sit after the afternoon prayer until the sun sets is dearer to me than freeing four slaves."

خرج رسول الله ﷺ على قاص يقص فأمسك فقال رسول الله ﷺ قص فلأن أقعد غدوة إلى أن تشرق الشمس أحب إلي من أن أعتق أربع رقاب وبعد العصر حتى تغرب الشمس أحب إلي من أن أعتق أربع رقاب
