Abu Umama said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us, and when we saw him, we stood up. He said, 'When you see me, do not stand up the way the non-Arabs do, glorifying one another.'"He said, "It was as though we wished he would make supplication for us, so he said, 'O Allah, forgive us, have mercy on us, be pleased with us, accept from us, admit us into Paradise, save us from the Fire, and set right all our affairs.'"
حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد عن مسعر حدثنا أبو العدبس عن رجل أظنه أبا خلف حدثنا
قال أبو أمامة خرج علينا رسول الله ﷺ فلما رأيناه قمنا قال فإذا رأيتموني فلا تقوموا كما يفعل العجم يعظم بعضها بعضا قال كأنا اشتهينا أن يدعو لنا فقال اللهم اغفر لنا وارحمنا وارض عنا وتقبل منا وأدخلنا الجنة ونجنا من النار وأصلح لنا شأننا كله
Its isnad is daif, due to the unknown identity of the narrator who transmitted from Abu Marzuq, and because he was not certain about the narrator. But the hadith is hasan. See number 22081, and see our comment on it. Abu Khalaf is perhaps Musa bin Khalaf, who is deemed trustworthy but has errors.
