The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever listens in on people's conversation when they dislike his presence will have molten lead poured into his ears on the Day of Judgment. Whoever fabricates a dream he did not see will be tormented until he ties a knot in a barley grain, and he will never be able to tie it. Whoever makes an image will be required to breathe life into it, and he will never be able to breathe into it."
حدثنا علي بن عاصم أخبرنا خالد عن عكرمة
قال رسول الله ﷺ من يستمع إلى حديث قوم وهم له كارهون صب في أذنه الآنك ومن تحلم عذب حتى يعقد شعيرة وليس بعاقد ومن صور صورة كلف أن ينفخ فيها وليس بنافخ
Its isnad is sahih. Khalid is Ibn Abu al-Hazza.The hadith is a repetition of 1866, and see also 2162, 2272.Regarding "al-anuk," with the nun vowelled with a damma, Ibn Athir said, it is white lead, though some say it is black lead, and others say it is the pure form of it. No other word has come in the pattern of afual [meaning with the ain vowelled with a damma] as a singular except this one. As for "ashudd," there is disagreement over whether it is singular or plural. It has also been suggested that "al-anuk" could be on the pattern of faail rather than afual, which would likewise be an anomaly.
