Muaz bin Jabal reported,

The Prophet ﷺ performed a prayer in which he excelled in his bowing, prostration, and standing. When this was mentioned to him, he said, "This was a prayer of hope and fear. I asked my Lord in it for three things, and He granted me two but withheld one. I asked Him not to destroy my nation through years of famine, and He granted me that. I asked Him not to give an external enemy power over them, and He granted me that. And I asked Him not to let their violence be among themselves, but He withheld this from me."

عن معاذ قال

صلى النبي ﷺ صلاة فأحسن فيها الركوع والسجود والقيام فذكرت ذلك له فقال هذه صلاة رغبة ورهبة سألت ربي فيها ثلاثا فأعطاني اثنين ولم يعطني واحدة سألته أن لا يقتل أمتي بسنة جوع فيهلكوا فأعطاني وسألته أن لا يسلط عليهم عدوا من غيرهم فأعطاني وسألته أن لا يجعل بأسهم بينهم فمنعني
