The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever keeps a dog that is of no use for guarding crops or livestock, a qirat is deducted from his good deeds each day."Saaib said, I asked Sufyan, "Did you yourself hear this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?"He replied, "Yes, by the Lord of this mosque."
حدثنا حماد بن خالد حدثنا مالك عن يزيد بن خصيفة عن السائب بن يزيد
عن النبي ﷺ أنه قال من اقتنى كلبا لا يغني من زرع أو ضرع نقص من عمله كل يوم قيراط قال السائب فقلت لسفيان أنت سمعت هذا من رسول الله ﷺ قال نعم ورب هذا المسجد
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Its narrators are trustworthy and well known, and have already been mentioned. The hadith has already appeared with similar wording in 10071.
