Whoever takes a binding oath in order to seize wealth wrongfully, while lying in that oath, will meet Allah while He is angry with him. The confirmation of this is in the Quran, "Indeed, those who exchange the covenant of Allah and their oaths for a small price..." [Al Imran 3:77] to the end of the verse. Then Ashath came out reciting it and said, "This verse was revealed concerning me. A man claimed a well of mine, and we brought our dispute to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.He said, 'Produce your two witnesses, or he must swear an oath.'I said, 'If he swears, he will swear falsely.'So the Prophet ﷺ said, 'Whoever takes a binding oath in order to seize wealth wrongfully will meet Allah while He is angry with him.'"
Its isnad is sahih. Ziyad bin Abdullah bin Tufayl Bakkai has been criticized by some scholars. Bukhari included his narration as a supporting corroboration. His hadith also appears in Muslim. Here he has explicitly stated "he narrated to us." The hadith has already been mentioned at 21734.
