Umar bin Hakam bin Thawban reported,

The freed slave of Qudamah bin Mazun reported that the freed slave of Usama bin Zayd told him that Usama bin Zayd used to travel out to his property in Wadi al-Qura, where he would fast on Mondays and Thursdays.I said to him, "Why do you fast while travelling, when you have grown old and frail?"He replied, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to fast on Mondays and Thursdays, so I asked him, 'Messenger of Allah, why do you fast on Mondays and Thursdays?' He answered, 'Deeds are presented on Mondays and Thursdays.'"

عن عمر بن الحكم بن ثوبان

أن مولى قدامة بن مظعون حدثه أن مولى أسامة بن زيد حدثه أن أسامة بن زيد كان يخرج في مال له بوادي القرى فيصوم الاثنين والخميس فقلت له لم تصوم في السفر وقد كبرت ورققت فقال إن رسول الله ﷺ كان يصوم الاثنين والخميس فقلت يا رسول الله لم تصوم الاثنين والخميس قال إن الأعمال تعرض يوم الاثنين ويوم الخميس
